Every recommendation on BTCWallets.com follows one rule: we only recommend what we would use to store our own bitcoin.
How we evaluate wallets. We judge every hardware wallet on the same criteria: security architecture (secure element, air-gapped operation, open-source and verifiable firmware), the manufacturer’s track record and transparency, backup and recovery options, ease of use for a first-time self-custodian, and price relative to what you get. A wallet that is technically excellent but easy to misuse gets marked down — most bitcoin is lost to user error, not to hackers.
Independence. Manufacturers cannot pay for placement, scores, or coverage on this site. We do not publish sponsored reviews. Affiliate relationships (described in our Affiliate Disclosure) are added after editorial decisions are made and never influence them.
Corrections and updates. This industry changes quickly — firmware updates, security disclosures, and company news can change a recommendation. We review our product pages regularly and date our updates. If you spot something outdated or incorrect, please contact us and we will fix it.
What we will never do. We do not provide investment advice. We will never tell you what to buy, when to buy, or how much to hold — we only cover how to secure what you already own. And no tool on this site will ever ask you to enter a seed phrase or private key. Anyone who asks for those is trying to rob you.
